First of all, this has been making the rounds on teh internets today, so odds are you've already seen it, but if you haven't, then you owe it to yourself to go check it out:
Katrina: The Gathering
Obviously, it's a lot more fun if you've ever played Magic: The Gathering, but if you haven't hopefully you'll be able to figure enough out to appreciate the humor. And does it make me a bad person that viewing this makes me yearn to play Magic again?
I find the memetic nature (in the Jungian sense,) of LJ friends lists fascinating. Every now and then you'll have a day where all the unrelated people on your friends list are facing the same problem. And I don't mean the generic ones everybody faces, I mean very specific problems. Today, it was rude women drivers in SUV's. Like I told
kansaschica, people love to talk about men using their cars to overcompensate for penile deficiencies, but I seriously believe that penis envy is alive and well and that it exists and thrives in the form of small, rude women who drive their SUV's badly. I'm not kidding. Next time an SUV driver does something rude or downright stupid in traffic, look at them very closely. Odds are it will be a woman. Mind you, I'm not saying women are bad drivers. But I am saying that SUVs seem to attract a certain type of woman to drive them.
Went to A&A's tonight and the dogs had apparently eaten out of the liter box. If you've ever owned both dogs and cats at the same time, you might notice that dogs occasionally like to just chow down on what they find in the cat's litter box. This is something that really sickens and disgusts me and makes me wonder far, FAR more than things like the platypus and serial killers just WHAT God was thinking. This in turn made me wonder: Humankind disobeyed God's command not to seek the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge and in turn were cursed forever with old age, violence, and the pain of pregnancy. Meanwhile, dogs are over here chowing down on cat shit. Kind of makes you wonder what they did, doesn't it?

Date: 2005-09-16 07:57 am (UTC)As for women drivers, I do have to say that they are worse drivers than men, in general terms. As for women driving big cars, I often think they're just driving their husband's car and don't know how to handle it. I always get pissed at drivers of big cars who can't handle it. Old people for instance, why can't they just buy themselves a nice little car with which they won't bump into others so easily, or with which nobody expects them to drive much faster. Gah! Hateful!

Oh well what the hell my opinion I don't think anyone could portray Bill O'Riely other then him self. At least they tried, but yet I seem to think it was inaccurate as well.

Date: 2005-09-17 12:33 am (UTC)Apparently, eating cat poop is kind of effcient
Date: 2005-09-16 09:19 am (UTC)That doesn't make it any less gross, but at least you know they're not like, "ooh! Kitty candy!"
Need some Magic cards to play with? I have a house full.

Tey should be forced to drive an Escort till they learn courtesy/
Date: 2005-09-16 01:10 pm (UTC)Women are often the owners of those things and aren't just driving the man of the house's vehicle around town. Lots of them even have stickers on them saying stuff like "Yes, this ISN'T my boyfriend's!" and so on. They're really proud that they have a car that they have to use a stepping stool to enter. They definitely have chips on their shoulders and it's like they feel that by buying an SUV, they're not only sitting high above the rest of the world, but they're actually buying the right of way in traffic and the privilage to not ever have to look out for other people. I laugh when I see them in accidents, crying while they babble away on their cell phones calling for help. Maybe if they'd stayed off the phone in the first place they wouldn't be in the accident. I'm just particularly hateful towards this demographic though. Too many bad encounters have soured me against them. Just like yesterday.
