You remember this? Yes. Of course you do. Well I guess last night after I left work this employee (whom shall forevermore be known as Biohazard,) lost control of his bowels again. And then today while I was working it happened AGAIN! At least this time there was no external seepage. At least none that I know about. Biohazard claims he has no control over that part of his body. (Remember he has spinobiffeda and who knows how many other health problems.) Well call me harsh, but I don't care. If I had something like that wrong with me you can be damn sure I would be doing everything I could to prevent this from happening! It's not like we live in a day and age where there are is a wide variety of products and apparati available to prevent this kind of thing. In fact, Biohazard WORKS IN A PLACE WHERE WE FUCKING SELL THEM!

And before anybody asks, I did point out to my boss today that this is a public health issue. (This was before this afternoon's incident. My boss had left for a meeting by then.) He just sort of of laughed it off, albeit nervously. He's not incompetant, I think he's just genuinely too nice to come down super hard about anything. Well I'm not. If it happens on my shift again I'm telling Biohazard to go home and stay there because he's too sick to work and that it creates a health risk for customers. If he wants to complain to the district and they get scared of him and fire my ass, too bad. Maybe then I'll pursue a career in nursing where at least this sort of thing is expected and you are compensated accordingly.

Boss and I were joking this morning about having him do the merchandise reset in that aisle. But now I'm scared that if he did we might run out of it.

He's a liability. If your boss won't do anything, take it up with corporate.

Ugh...dood...no. He needs to take care of himself, and consider others around him.

First off, I'll let you know that the title of this entry did give me the Tyree Chuckles.

Second, I agree that something has to be said. Hopefully you or other people at the store have some sort of record of what's been happening. It might feel crappy to do so, but if anything like this happens again, perhaps snap a shot or two with a camera phone. I figure it's best to try to document your shit (literally) when dealing with a possible sticky "discriminiation" situation like this.

Heck... how many of us have worked with others who have disabilities of various sorts? Lots of us! How many of us have to deal with obvious health hazards because of said disabilities? I'd say very few. There really is little if no excuse for repeatedly shitting across your place of employment. Seriously now.

Do you want me to ask mom about it? She used to get jobs for special needs kids so she might know what the ruling would be on that. I mean, is he mentally handicapped or just physically handicapped? God she got seated with a regular ed kid who liked to crap his pants for fun in class and the other teacher didn't want to deal with it. Yeah the kid was LD but he wasn't so bad that he needed to be in the TLS room. Half of my mom's kids have the mental ability of five year olds and this kid was taking algebra.

He has no mental handicaps at all that I know of. Just an overprotective mother who homeschools him but not very well (he can barely perform basic math - did I mentio he runs a cash register?) and likes to throw her weight around with the company (she's also employed by them at a different store.)

I know that nursing comment was probably a joke, but if you did decide to go into nursing I bet [livejournal.com profile] mzsassyazz1 would be thrilled! She's always in favor of cool people becoming nurses. She could use the company :)
