uberreinigerHere is my Christmas present to myself that finally arrived today after two days of playing hide-and-seek with the UPS man:
It's a B.C. Rich ICS Vortex/Dimmu Borgir signature bass guitar. I've wanted one of these ever since I first saw ICS Vortex play his in concert but never thought I'd actually own one. I was able to scoop this one up at a ridiculously low price. It plays like a dream and sounds as metal as it looks. If I didn't have to be back at work first thing tomorrow I probably wouldn't be getting any sleep on account of it.
It feels good to own a four-string bass again. My 5-string is still awesome but it's heavy and the wide neck is hard on my small fingers. Plus the action (height of the strings from the fretboard) is hard for me to work with. This new one is a more comfortable experience all around.
So it's a happy day. It will probably be a while before I can get another piece of music equipment but I think this will more than tide me over in the meantime.
