Hollow Man and Dead Receivers
Sep. 22nd, 2003 01:30 amI drive by the steel mill every day now since the new house is north of it. I don't think they are demolishing it, I think it's being renovated. Which is to say it is being very slowly evicerated and remade until little of the original structure remains. I cannot say how this will affect the ghost. I wish I knew or that there was some way I could find out. he seemed so intrinsically tied to the building itself and had such a profound mastery over its physical environment that I have no idea how it's disruption will affect him. In the best case, it will set him free and he won't be stuck here and angry anymore. In the worst case, he's going to be that much angrier and violent toward the new tenants. I don't know and probably never will know.
I would just like to say that Southwestern Bell are first-rate bukkake-receivers of the utmost order. Twice now they've stood us up on getting our phone installed while assuring us when contacted that "oh yes, he'll be there anytime now!" Well, turned out the real reason was that the previous tenants skipped out on their phone bill and Bell need written permission from the landlord before new phone service can commence. Why couldn't they have just TOLD us that in the first place? Budfuggers. I haven't finished moving in because I don't want to live where there's no phone. Call me crazy. My poor parents, of course, really don't have much choice. At any rate, I have to be out next Tuesday so we'd bloody well better have it by then. This has been the straw that's broken the camel's back. I'm getting a cell phone ASAP. Yes, I never thought the day would come, but here it is.
Other than that, I can't complain. You know why? Because I'm going to the Toyota dealership after I get off work. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have a new Echo on its way to me. And you know what else? There's a CD Warehouse store just a few blocks down the road from my new house. They've got a cache of Manowar and Iced Earth that nearly made me whip out the ol' plastic loanshark today. But... first things first. First buy car, then buy tunes to blast in it. I only hope they're still there when I finally get back for them. MUST... RESIST... LURE_OF_METAL!!!
