I drive by the steel mill every day now since the new house is north of it. I don't think they are demolishing it, I think it's being renovated. Which is to say it is being very slowly evicerated and remade until little of the original structure remains. I cannot say how this will affect the ghost. I wish I knew or that there was some way I could find out. he seemed so intrinsically tied to the building itself and had such a profound mastery over its physical environment that I have no idea how it's disruption will affect him. In the best case, it will set him free and he won't be stuck here and angry anymore. In the worst case, he's going to be that much angrier and violent toward the new tenants. I don't know and probably never will know.

I would just like to say that Southwestern Bell are first-rate bukkake-receivers of the utmost order. Twice now they've stood us up on getting our phone installed while assuring us when contacted that "oh yes, he'll be there anytime now!" Well, turned out the real reason was that the previous tenants skipped out on their phone bill and Bell need written permission from the landlord before new phone service can commence. Why couldn't they have just TOLD us that in the first place? Budfuggers. I haven't finished moving in because I don't want to live where there's no phone. Call me crazy. My poor parents, of course, really don't have much choice. At any rate, I have to be out next Tuesday so we'd bloody well better have it by then. This has been the straw that's broken the camel's back. I'm getting a cell phone ASAP. Yes, I never thought the day would come, but here it is.

Other than that, I can't complain. You know why? Because I'm going to the Toyota dealership after I get off work. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have a new Echo on its way to me. And you know what else? There's a CD Warehouse store just a few blocks down the road from my new house. They've got a cache of Manowar and Iced Earth that nearly made me whip out the ol' plastic loanshark today. But... first things first. First buy car, then buy tunes to blast in it. I only hope they're still there when I finally get back for them. MUST... RESIST... LURE_OF_METAL!!!

Call me crazy.

I would, but you don't have a phone :)

Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have a new Echo on its way to me.

Isn't that the car with the speedometer and such in the middle of the dash at an angle? That seems a bit weird to me.

Everyone frome you to Consumer Reports magazine has told me so, but when I test drove one, it didn't bother me much - probably because I'd heard so much about it already. They're spacious little buggers, though. Enough room inside that several of your monkeys could plop down on all four of their asses and still have room to spare. Right now, though, I'll just take anything with shock absorbers, a muffler, window handles that aren't broken and a body free of gaping rust holes - all things which my current vehicle doesn't have!

Why not call someone else to hook up your service? Sage telecom is who we use and basic service from them is $29.99 a month(free call waiting and free caller id)... and switch over was **free** for us. :3 Their number is: 1-888-972-7243 You can probably tell them your situation and get an answer.

I'll agree with Sarah.. go get a different phone service provider. I was getting screwed by bellsouth for about $70 a month (that's right folks) and am getting the same stuff, switched over for free, for 29.99 plus any extra stuff.. but its so considerably less, i felt the urge to flip BellSouth the finger.

And go forth... choose wisely the first gem of metal to be trumpeted from your new iron steed! It is important:) Hail Brother of True Metal!

There were even more problems today. I'll put it to my parents and see what they say since ultimately it's their decision. Only problem for me would be the disruption in my internet service since I go through SBC Yahoo and my internet and phone come as one bill. Bell have been, as you would say, fucktards this past week, but I've always been very happy with yahoo and really don't want to have to change providers.
