I don't know what's worse, that Cristina Scabbia only has 8% of the vote or that Tarja Turunnen has 25%. Then again I voted for Simone Simmons so don't blame me!

Insanity! It's a tough choice between Cristina and Simone for me, but I had to go for Cristina in the end. I love Simone, but Cristina's been so lovely to me over the years. She wins through having had actual interaction!

It was actually Within Temptation's facebook posting that brought the poll to my attention. Sharon is awesome! The singer I've found for our band loves them too.

It's interesting that The Gathering get thought of as a metal band so much since I really don't think it's an accurate description of them.

Well, I'm sick and tired of this "rate this", "vote for that" mania.
Who needs that artificial competition anyway?
All of these ladies are doing their job, and they're all great at what they are doing.
You can't compare Tarja to Christina, because their voices and techniques are as different as apples and mushrooms.

The worst thing is that so many "fans" post very derisive comments aimed at some singers they don't like (or aren't idolized by them). If they had to take half of this crap themselves, they'd curl up in a corner, suck their thumbs and cry.

I don't think you can really tell who's "best". Each of these ladies has recorded and performed songs I love and others I think are "bleh.." So what?
