A song no one would expect you to like.

Now you have to understand, I HATE country music. I hate it as only a metalhead who grew up in a small Midwestern town can. But I have heard many Faith Hill songs and damnit I have not heard one yet that I have not absolutely loved. But this one is my favorite.

Being a musician, I have an appriciation for all kinds of music (at least one song)...I don't really listen to country that often, but I do like some of it. I do really like Faith Hill (and her husband, Tim McGraw), but amazingly, this is not even close to one of my faves of hers...It's okay, but I wouldn't put in on my mp3 player or anything.

First of all, Faith Hill and other artists like this ARE NOT COUNTRY MUSIC!! It's pop music that is played on country stations. I was raised in this area most of my life and grew up on real country music. This modern pop-country garbage sickens me.

Real country music sucks. This is the only kind I can remotely stand.

You are a silly goose, Sir! Saying Faith Hill is the only kind of country you can remotely stand is like saying Fall Out Boy is the only metal you will listen to. One isn't the other. Hell, bluegrass is just speed metal with a banjo and fiddle.

And most of what came to be known as country music was originally Celtic folk tunes retooled for the American frontier: a perfect example of if something isn't broken not to try and fix it.

We were too busy getting rid of injuns to keep it real.

btw, if you not doing anything the 28th (Monday), myself and Nikki are going to see Hank III at the Beaumont. You'd enjoy the last half of the show with Assjack. Punk, metal, hardcore, stoner doom stuff.

Being a metalhead I would figure you could at least persheate his metal side. Granted he has the Hank Williams legacy, but he grew up on Black Sabbath, KISS, Misfits, and Black Flag like probably most metalheads. I wish someone would upload a decent copy of it, but he played a show with Danzig a few years back. Pretty good stuff, especially Glenn covering original Hank Williams song, "Angel of Death" with III. Carry on.
