As much as I complain about Walgreens (a.k.a. Void Circle Pharmacy,) it wasn't the *worst* job I've ever had. The absolute worst one was Toys R' Us. I got hired to an overnight crew responsible for remodelling a store. I'd been unemployed for several months so couldn't afford to turn down a job. The crew was mostly teenagers (this was during the summer,) and regular employees taking extra hours, but we were all treated as expendable. Basically it was minimum wage to do the kind of work that construction workers and warehouse workers get paid four to five times as much to do. The supervisor was an overgrown frat boy, (as in, he's married with a family but only ever talks about his frat days in college,) who tried to act like a drill instructor and treated us all like dirt. We were *supposed* to be working eight hour shifts but they really *wanted* us to stay there for ten to twelve hours. They also could never get payroll right. I left with a less than favorable impression of that company.

Wow...that's rough. If ever I hate a job I will think of this. :S

At least it motivated me to seek better employment!

Isn't it odd (and pathetic)how some people cling to certain times in their lives... I'm always quite fond (deep sarcasm here) of the HS history teacher/football coach type....ugh.

It seems like the coach is always a history teacher and vice versa. Why is that, I wonder?

Brent worked at Toys R Us for a time...and he hated it too. I seem to remember him talking about how they would want him to stay over time too.

A lot of "big" retail places are like that. They can't really *make* you stay over, but there's definitely a pressure to do so.
