Word of caution for Twitter users

Not that I think any of you are the types to be sending tweets to Fox News or Britney Spears, but the information is good to have.

For the record, I hate Twitter. If it works for ya great, but all these entries full of "tweets" that you people keep posting, most of the time I just scroll past them. They look like gibberish. It's like trying to read James Joyce's blog. But that's just my opnion of it. Carry on.

I'm cranky today. I don't know why. I don't think I slept well last night.

Twitter and face book- I so such at those sorts of things. I mean, it seems so shallow- Julie is... talking in third person about myself is really annoying.
I joined FB and now it's like my mother's friends and all these people (teachers...people that freak me the hell out) are monitoring my life.
I feel like I now have to go get rid of my pictures... watch what I say... it's like big brother.
I'll probably dump it again. I'm finding that being a "good girl" all the time is becoming impossible.
I'm actually thinking of making a "group list?" is that what they call it on LJ for things that I doubt the Xtains want to hear... like I do have sex- OMG!

Friends filters, that's what you're thinking of. Put me on because you know I don't mind hearing about sex. I promise nothing you say will end up in one of my books :)

Another friend of mine made the same complaing about Facebook just yesterday. I don't feel spied upon by it; I'm pretty much the same person wherever I go online. But it's a format that limits the depth of interaction with people and that's what bothers me about it.

I agree about the twitter, though I barely even know what in the hell it is. I now have three of my flist who have all gone to twitter posting and just post those on their lj. Ugh- maybe I'm just old and cranky, but the only internet place I'm on is LJ. I don't want myspace. I don't want a facebook. I don't want twitter.

Glad I could help. I'm pleasantly surprised to find other people sharing my opinion. So much of LJ seems to have gone over to the Twitter dark side it feels lonely to be unmoved by its charms.
