Nothing to report

Not a lot to report on this week. Been working and getting ready for the week when my boss will be away... which starts today. Now I find out I have open shifts to fill. Hey, I love a challenge.

The other night I finally got to watch The Office for the first time. I can see why people like it. It's exactly my kind of humor.

On a less funny note, I have begun reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I believe this makes me the first person ever to read this book who did not a) have to write a report on it, or b) have "ontological" as their most heavily used adjective. It's actually an entertaining book. Like a socio-economic Lord of the Rings.

I tried to like Grey's Anatomy. I really did. But I just couldn't get into it. I found it a boring show.

I gave it a chance for the first four episodes or so, but it wasn't going anywhere. The fact it's a girlie soap opera show doesn't bother me. Heck, I love Desperate Housewives, even though I haven't gotten to watch it since the beginning of the second season.

I don't see how docking could in any way be satisfactory for either party involved.

Rand is a gifted author. She's able to write a book that presents ideas that sound perfectly reasonable, rational, and worthy. She is able to do so despite her ideas being, on further examination, dangerously stupid.

It's too bad she's dead. I'd love to see Stephen Colbert interview her.
