It looks like starting Monday I'll be a site supervisor. It means more money; less than I was making at Void Circle Pharmacy, but more than I am making now.

I am really not sure I can adapt. I have never worked 8-4, Monday through Friday in my life. And I have no idea what this will mean for my plan to go back to school. But for now this is probably a good thing and I'm very glad it's happened.

I'm a confirmed night owl, but have been on the corporate schedule for most of my life. You will get used to it on some levels. Also, most people who go to school work also. Tons of us old farts going back, but need to support families as well.

Oh wait. I'm am old oldie, you're not. :)

Ps. The christianity community is being featured in the stupid_free community. They're mocking raven55 from the KJV thread. He sure makes the rest of normal people look like we're the Hitler youth or something. It's depressing every time they feature him. :(

Yeah, I joined for something to entertain me with at work but most of the "stupid free" people in there are really nothing more than closed minded, ignorant mobs who like to go crazy on anyone who doesn't agree with their personal mob values. Don't tell them that though... or they'll mob on you and prove you "wrong"! Heh.

I comment sometimes but usually it's a trainwreck that's doing a fine job of being stupid without me adding to the pile. I think something I said was featured there once a long while back, but it wasn't really so much stupid as poorly worded and enough people realized that, so it really didn't bug me. Just laugh and clarify and let the "open minded" morons laugh with their buddies until they find someone else to feel superior to and they sit housebound to their computers looking for constant sources of porn. :P

In my perfect world bedtime would be 3am and get-up time would be noon. Alas I guess I'll just have to work harder at becoming a full-time novelist in order to make that dream happen.

So how do you go to school when working during the day? I mean, I know just about every college offers evening classes, but what do you do when an evening class isn't available for something you need? How do you manage the schedule conflict?

I think most majors are available - I noticed one entire art/art history block of classes listed on the site, and at least one other block that included something that looked suspiciously art-history-ish.

But yeah, contacting them is going to be key - given that you already have a Bachelor's, you'll need to get some advising on what exactly is needed to get a second one, seeing as you don't have to retake all the idiotic gen ed stuff all over again.

Congrats, you'll adjust quickly enough to an 8-5 schedule. Most Universities offer night classes so if you are really determined, you can work the classes in. Might take longer, but if you hang in there...

UMKC even has some Saturday classes in the MBA program.

I LOVE the regular Monday-Friday hours. I always wanted that because I hated not knowing my schedule for the next week or two or being at the mercy of last minute "shift changes" if some asshat decided that they didn't feel like showing up because they knew someone (me) would end up covering for them. I absolutely love it, although my hours are 7-5. I think it would be good for school because it would free you up for night classes or even Saturday classes, which is what I did when I was taking teaching courses.

Anyways, I know I've not been around to comment lately and I wanted to stop by and say congrats on the job! I hope all else is going well. I'll be around more often in the near future hopefully.
