Death is only the beginning

My condolences to the two people on my friends list who both lost loved ones in the last twenty-four hours. I am glad that those who passed had the time and the ability to come to peace with what was about to happen. Many do not. The hard part is for the people who must carry on here without them. You are not forgotten and neither are they.

Today was the last of my days off. No more time off in sight until the thirteenth of August. We had lunch at our favorite Mediterranean cafe and then went and bought the digital recorder Mel has had her eye on. Will there be voice posts uploaded in the near future? All I can say is it is now within the realm of possibility where it was not before.

After a night at Dean & Lesley's (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a truly great bad movie,) we are back home and readying ourselves for the ordeal ahead. Bless you all.

Thank you, my friend. I do apologize that I haven't thanked you on my lj yet, but of late, I've found it painful to return to the entries (of loss) that I've written. I think this summer of goodbyes has just been too overwhelming to deal with it all.

I didn't feel as if I could write about Fiona or her dying these last months as her family is on my flist and I didn't want her to read anything that would cause her pain. The dying are already worried enough about the ones left behind.

I do hope that your looooong stretch at work is a good one. Survive!
