After seven days of work without a break a single day off feels like about four days off. Friday was the day and we were supposed to celebrate my mom's birthday, but Mel came down with some kind of illness so I went alone. My folks grilled and sent me home with a nice stack of burgers and brauts. It's been good eating today. After that I played World of Warcraft well into the early morning while Mel slept off the worst of her sickness. Ran my Rogue through Wailing Caverns with the help of a pair of paladins and much ass was kicked.

This upcoming week is much kinder to me schedule-wise. A lot of two or three days on, then a day off. If the job were like that all the time I might not consider leaving so much. But it is what it is.

I've got a lot of writing and reading I need to do. Maybe with the nicer schedule coming up I can get some of it done this week.

Aye. I was just a step away from a MGT position with Game Stop about a month ago but the DM shot me down without even interviewing me saying I "didn't have enough sales experience." That was more than a little infuriating, especially since by the end of my first interview they were pretty much making it sound like I had it in the bag and the second interview would be just a formallity. I dunno, it's just unbelievably hard to find a job right now. I'd think it was just me if not for the fact that my father's in the same boat right now and having no better luck than I am.
