Well it's the end of the deadline for me to hear about that job so I guess that means I didn't get it. Stupid damn dumb dildos don't know snakes from dildos about what makes a good employee, that I can tell you. So I guess this means I am back to searching drawing board. All I want is a job that has some dignity and a good paycheck so I can finance my wedding without going deeper in credit card debt. Is that too much to ask? But no. No, it is apparently not that simple. Well, my dogged determination and persistence continues but nevertheless, I am mad that stupid corporation could not see how great I was. Or maybe I wasn't that great. That was one of the most excruciating interviews I've ever had and I'm sure I had to have completely botched some of the answers at the time.

I hate that I get my hopes up, but it's kind of hard not to over things like this. Anyway, thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. They did brighten my day yesterday and I very much appreciate all the love.

Have you called to ask them about an update? When I applied for my current job, I checked in on the day they said they wanted the position filled, assuming it'd been filled but wanting a postive response. Yet, they hadn't filled it and it was another two weeks before I was hired.

*hugs*

I called the recruiter this morning but she wasn't in yet. Will keep trying.

[livejournal.com profile] cherith's idea sounds reasonable. It'd eat my stomach to do it because I guess it can be uncomfortable, but it may be worth the shot... plus you let them know you really *are* interested in their company.
If not for this one, maybe it would help if they have future openings.

I called them but the recruiter didn't answer. I'll try again today. I do feel I should at least make them have to tell me no rather than avoid me.

Awwwwww, suck man. But definitely at least call to find out... it could be that they're just being slow.

I was in this job hunting bind just a few months ago and it can be hell. I didn't have one place, even the one which eventually hired me, that actually got back to me when they said they would. I found them to be running about two weeks behind actually.

Also, don't give up or get discouraged. I know that's easier said than done, but it's vital. Sling enough mud and eventually something will stick. Unfortunately, sometimes, you have to sling the entire swamp...

I'm not discouraged, just very ready for the whole job hunt to be over. I'm sure you can relate. I don't mind slinging mud. I just wish I had a bigger bucket.
