So how did everything go with the big protest today? You know, the one where all the Mexicans were supposed to not show up for work at once? I kind of missedit all. I was sleeping.

(shrug) I think it wasn't so much a deal here.

From what I've seen/experienced, it sent the restaurant world to hell and back. Wow, chaos. Not that the restaurant world is a real issue or anything...

It's hard to see that sort of thing when it's less than half a mile to cows in all directions.

For all the hype yesterday, the only numerically significant presence appears to have been Los Angeles.

I guess it wasn't a big deal, since you know, Mexicans are all lazy and don't work anyway. ;)

Sorry, had to. I hadn't really been paying attention.

Now see, I took the high road and avoided saying something like "I don't see how it would be different than any other day seeing how Mexicans fail to show up for work all the time." But you... you went there!

I have no idea. Most of my coworkers are Korean, and all the Mexicans who work at the mall where I work seem to have showed up today. Heh.

One of my local group said of three hundred workers at her factory, only 80 showed up today, if that.

All seemed normal here as well. The restaurant across the street was running normally.

've heard some sectors (especially construction, agriculture and restaurants-and-such) took a heavy beating -mostly in the south.

Illegal immigration issue aside, I'm quite impressed the protesters were in general so well-behaved and respectful. Go them.
