Had a heck of a good time this evening. [livejournal.com profile] yaqui treated us to Mel-chan's official "welcome to Kansas City" dinner. We went to Jack's, which is a fancy-schmancy barbecue place, but DAMN do they have good BBQ. Our meal also featured a special guest appearance by [livejournal.com profile] megiloth who is a master of ending conversations at awkward moments. Conversation topics included horror movies, the KKK and Christian metal bands and somehow it all tied together and made sense.

I received the evening's "He's behind me, isn't he?" award for loudly extolling the fine quallities of MILFs while our very pregnant waitress was standing immediately over my shoulder.

The "WTF?" award of the night goes to the bizarre homoerotic rollerbladers we saw on the drive to [livejournal.com profile] yaqui's. Mel-chan describes them much better than I can, but they were rollerblading and it was homoerotic. I can't say it any more clearly than that.

Is it wrong of me to say how much I love this weather we're having right now when several decent-to-large sized American cities look like Hiroshima right now on account of the weather? It's an eerie contrast. It's so beautiful and autumn-like here, so tranquil and quiet while to the south thousands of home lie under water. So I don't really know what to say about it so I guess I won't try. Be thankful for what you have, for in an instant it can all be taken away.

yup. It's wrong.
