Days off suck when you can't play on your beloved computer. I did get out and enjoy the nice weather though. That was worthwhile.

Both M. and I are constantly tired lately. We've been going to bed early and sleeping in when we can, yet we wake up feeling like we've not slept. I'm sure my sleep apneia is probably a part of it somehow. On all my days off this week I feel like I've done nothing but sleep or want to sleep. The sleep is there but the sleep quality just feels like it isn't.

I have now filled an entire spiral notebook with Seasons In the Abyss. I bought a second one today to continue and finish the story. I think it will go faster now that I'm at the midpoint. Kind of getting excited about the story again.

As much as I like writing, reading isn't giving me joy of late. I think all the "realistic" fantasy I've been reading in the form of Michael Grant's Gone novels and G.R.R.M.'s A Song of Ice and Fire are having a long-term effect on me of bumming me out. To say nothing of the various "literary" novels I've been reading as well. I think it's time for some more Charles De Lint or Lisa Shearin: something that's hopeful and happy and doesn't apologize for being so.

Do you have a CPAP machine? I had sleep apnea really bad when I was about 50lbs heavier.. I was ALWAYS tired. I would be at my desk working and almost fall asleep. It's miserable, I feel your pain.

Also, reading Widdershins by Charles DeLint right now and that's my first novel of his. Loving it. It's like American Gods with fairies and no man eating pussies.

Widdershins was the last one of his I read. It's just beautiful. My favorite novel of his so far is Trader which features all the same characters but is set several years before Widdershins.

It sucks to never feel rested. Hope you get a break soon.

I just started Song of Ice and Fire... and here I was thinking you might like it, since it promises to be a longish saga :P

I am deeply in love with this series. But I'm taking a break before starting the third book. One's emotions can only take so much of the battering that series puts them through.

I hate when you really like a book/series, but constantly watching/reading it leaves you depressed. When that happens it effects my real life and it's terrible.

You've seen the effects. You read my DA:O fic. Before I wrote that I was a mess!! Over a fictional character, for like two days I was just thoroughly depressed. Stupid emotional attachment and sad things happening.

I've got my computer back! I can finally return comments easily!

Yeah, A Song of Ice and Fire is not pleasant reading but that doesn't make it any less page-turning. This must be what people who get addicted to depressants feel like.

Your DA:O fic is amazing. The anguish you went through was worth it. You should write for Bioware.

Yaye!! Going without a computer is like pure torture!

Yeah, I know when we were basically done watching (right before the dragons) Dayna was just like "I am so glad I didn't invest my time in the books!! WTF" cause she thought khaleesi chick was dead therefore leaving over half the people we liked dead. Lol

I don't know if I'd say amazing, but Ty!' *blush* Bryan told me I should try, though I wouldn't know where to start. I should ask Naomi Novik lol. But considering how good "The Stolen Throne" isn't? It can't hurt lol

I wouldn't know how to go about it either. And I'm sure they get tons of fan fiction authors wanting to write for them. But by that logic you have no worse a shot then you would trying to get a first-time novel published through a major publisher. And there are cases out there where a company has liked a fanfiction author's work so much that they have hired them onto their writing team.

So did Danaerys's survival change Dayna's mind?

Yeah. I'd have to do a lot more editing on it before I'd be willing to send it in though of course.

I'm not actually sure. It was funny because she was just like gawd whatever! Sean Bean is dead! Drogo is dead! The white haired chick is dead!" (this is the point where they are walking up to the remains of the funeral pyre). And I was just like "Dude, she's not dead. She's the dragon remember. It's going to be epic and she'll be fine-OMG DRAGONS!!!!!!!" lol.

And thank you for showing me how to spell her name. Her name always seemed too manly to me, but the spelling olooks much prettier lol

Isn't it funny how we have almost forgotten how to function without technology? :)

Quite disturbing, actually. We are all on electromagnetic pulse away from abject despair and misery.
