Unmarked helicopters/ The Lord is coming soon...

Driving back down to my suburb from the Red Zone (I had a 40% off Borders coupon - couldn't pass that up.) I saw a formation of three military helicopters flying over the town. Really creepy. There's an Air Force base an hour or so to the east but they never send stuff this far over. Weird.

Yeah, had that happen to Ryan and I actually on our way back from the Shrewsberry Ren. Fest. We were out in the boonies and we get a military fly over and shortly after a convoy of military vehicles passes our way. Not a big deal to me since I knew the Coast Guard uses that are for some training along with the ROTC from the college a short time away. We get home and I see on the news that they had found the body of Brooke Wilberger, who had gone missing while I was in college near there.

I've seen a pair of Blackhawks over the freeway twice within a few weeks. I think when someone important, (White House important,) is on the freeway now, they have a couple of helicopters overhead.

Could be A VIP training formation....Are there any projects near you that would need a "bird's eye" view? An hour or so to the east is nothing as the unmarked 'copter flies.

Still, if you're not used to such things, I can see how it would be unsettling. I'm odd in that the sound of helicopters doesn't frighten me. But my second (now deceased) hubby was a pilot. It gives me good memories of him. :D

Oh I know it's nothing as the copter flies. That's why I figured they were from there. I can't think of anything going on around here that would necessitate three copters. As the commentor above said, I could see it if a dignitary of some sort was coming in via the nearby airstrip.

I had a 40% off coupon good for this weekend so I took advantage of it to get a normally very expensive Neko Case cd.
