I think Firefly is probably the most perfect outer space television series ever made. Stiff competition in that category, but it contains all the best elements of its competitors and none of their flaws.

Movies, there's too many to choose from, but I'd like to give a special shout out to...

The Black Hole - For some reason it's never been "cool" to like this movie. Maybe it's the mere fact that it was a Disney film, maybe it's the cute robot sidekick, maybe it's Maximillian Schell hamming it up for the camera. ("Something... must have caused all this. But what caused... that cause!?") But this movie really captured my imagination when I was young and it never let go. The special effects and sets were intriguing and the surreal final sequence works way better than the one in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Besides, how many other movies are there where you get to see Norman Bates ginsu'd to death by a giant Satanic death robot?

I like Firefly, but as far as movies go...The actual and original Star Wars movies are always gonna be my favorites. I grew up with them, and saw them in the theater from a young age. Darth Vader was my first crush...:P
