[Error: unknown template qotd]Honestly, I'm happy right where I am with cheeseburgers, and telephones, and computers, and people not being slaves, and toilets that work. But if I *absolutely* had to choose one it would probably be Rome at its peak. Rome combines everything that's ever fascinated me about the ancient world into a sort of "greatest hits" package, plus you didn't necessarily have to be upper class to enjoy a reasonably decent standard of living, (although it sure did help.)
