[Error: unknown template qotd]House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danieliewski. If you can endure this book it will leave you unable to look at anything the same way again.
Its structure is unconventional to say the least, but if you're willing to overlook the sheer eccentricity of the narrative structure it's one of the most worthwhile novels ever written.
I have the book and the CD. Back when it first came out I know they did reading tours together where they'd take turns reading passages. Missing out on that is a big regret in my life.
