Dave Arneson, Dungeons & Dragons' other creator, dies at 61.

Of course they can't even write an obituary for the man without mentioning the word "geek" in it. Oh well, I won't get started. Congratulations to Dave on a life well-lived.

I owe the man big time. I've spent years of Sundays with my best friends playing DragonQuest and having a great time. I also formed some life-long friendships with a group of great guys.

If he and Gygax hadn't created what they did I wouldn't be the person that I am. It's only a slight exaggeration to say that I owe my existence to them.
