Writer's Block: The X-Files Birthday

Like many fans, my stand-out favorite is "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" which was almost a total parody of everything The X-Files took seriously. It had a deliberately cheesy stop-motion alien monster, Alex Trebek and Jesse Ventura as a pair of Men In Black, and a sheriff who edits out all his foul language as he talks. ("That's a bleepin' dead alien alright.")

Other favorites of mine include:

-"Home", about incestuous backwoods mutants

-The "crossover" episode with reality-TV series COPS.

-The one where Bruce Campbell played a demon with a domineering wife.

Man, I still need to see the newest movie...

I didn't see much X-Files to begin with, but the Home one I do remember, and it freaked me out big time :P

I am aware. I think it's my favorite because they actually had the guts to go there.

Another fun fact: the woman under the bed was inspired by an incident recorded in Charlie Chaplin's autobiography.

I totally forgot about the X-Files! I was really into it a few years back, watched the first three seasons or so, and then for some reason fell out of it. I really enjoyed it, though.

I watched it avidly until David Duchovny left, then only watched it sporadically since I felt they were basically beating a dead horse at that point. I did watch the final episode of the series though and that it was an excellent wrap-up.

I remember Home...it was creepy...even though I didn't watch it regularly, I caught it on late every once in a while, and watched it when nothing else was on. I'd have liked to see the Bruce Campbell one...
I also remember another one that I liked where this guy had the ability to squeeze into tight spaces. I remember him moving through an air vent in one bit...but that's all I can remember about it. :)
