...And saw An American Haunting. It was okay, but not the faithful retelling of the real-life Bell Witch haunting that I wanted it to be. They abandon terrifying historical fact for not-scary Hollywood conventions: annoying violin crescendos that tell you when you're supposed to be "scared," swooping camera work intended to give you a "ghost's eye view." Blah. They even engage in some zooming, fast-motion chase-scene camera action which I haven't seen outside of the "Evil Dead" movies. Had Bruce Campbell popped up with a shotgun and said "okay she-bitch, let's go," I wouldn't have been surprised.

In other news, it looks like we may have some job security where I work after all. New property management people met with our office's people on Thursday. Without going into a lot of detail, the meeting left us the impression that we're more than ahead of the pack in terms of acquiring the contract. Nothing's known for sure yet, but we can maybe breathe a bit easier. I'm still hunting for a new job though. I am ready to make more money.

I dreamt with you and Mel tonight. You were driving around the country to visit all the picnic places ... and every time you stopped somewhere you visited a monument to AW (yeah, there was such a monument in every picnic place in the US, and each one had a chapter of AW written on it!)

Then it got more complicated because some of my bosses showed up and... well, it goes down crazier-hill from here.

Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever seen a pic of you and Mel.

Wow... that would lead to lots of parents yelling at their children "don't read what's on that monument!" But it would definately appeal to my ego :)

Mel doesn't like there to be pictures of her. I used to have a bunch of pictures of me in my icons. I'll have to see if I've still got them.

Did you get the email I sent you the other day about AW?

Well, I definately feel less pessimissic than I have about it in a long time. We're not out of the woods by any means, but at least it will take that whole "why am I bothering?" feeling out of going to work.

I have a movie report too!

M:I3 was actually surprisingly good, with intense, serious levels of tension maintained just about throughout. (It felt like an episode of "Alias" on the big screen, but a) that's not entirely inappropriate and b) whaddaya expect anyway?) Amy said she was "too old for this kind of thing," which I take to be high praise indeed.

I'm glad it was good. I don't think I'll be seeing it, though. the MI franchise just doesn't really interest me anymore.
