"There's a rumbly in my tumbly" said Pooh as he savagely mauled the sleeping camper...

Ha ha! This goes to prove my point that if you look close enough, everyone has a disorder! So if that is true, what is normal? Who says the disorders arnt normal? AND WHY MUST WE MEDICATE ALL THE DAMN TIME????!?!?!?!?!?! Notice they said nothing about therapy, just medication.
*deep breath* Poor Pooh and the Gang. I think they are perfectly fine.
*wanders off singing "Pooh Corner"*

I agree. I hate how medication has become the cop out that it is. Why solve your problem or identify it, when you can just pay the medical community lots of money for trendy new drugs that keep you dependant?

Therapy is more of working to fix things so you don't NEED to rely on other crutches to bear your problems. Medication has become the quick-fix crutch that keeps you(and everyone else they can possibly convince to accept the prescription) coming back for more and in higher doses just to "function." It's pathetic in my opinion.

Look at that. Proof that psychology is intellectually bankrupt. That's great.

The field of psychology hasn't had anything useful to say for about a generation. And yet they are still a recognized part of the medical profession.

That's not fair. A lot of useful things have come out of psychology and it's not all bunk. It's like religion: a great idea regularly ruined by high-profile idiots.

I can't point to a single thing the psychology community has done to improve mental health in the last generation. Now, I'm biased in that I honestly believe that at least HALF of the mental "illnesses" out there are merely crutches that the psychologists allow people to use. How many people do you know who claim to be clinically depressed or manic depressive? Ask your grandparents how many people they knew who claimed the same, or who even evidenced symptoms of these disabilities.

The truth is that if you TELL people that their depression is a medical condition, they don't feel a need to fix it. They just throw up their hands and start looking for a way to medicate. The reason I hate and distrust physchologists/psychiatrists is that they really ought to be spending their time teaching people how to cope with stress, emotions, etc. instead of diagnosing them with a mental illness they don't have.

Yes, there are people with chemical imbalances that cause them to have mental illnesses like depression. However, they should be a VAST minority, not half the population like it seems these days. And I blame psychology for that.

ftw!

I mean, for gods sake its a childrens book (and cartoon). I hate people who do shit like this.

I also would like to state: Spongebob Squarepants is not gay, Neither is Patrick. Pokemon are NOT trying to teach our children satanism. Teletubbies are, aslo, not gay OR are they cross dressers.

I wish these ASS hats would find something else to spend money on, like curing a fucking disease and leave kids programming alone. meh.

No, no teletubbies are most assuredly gay! :P But seriously, it's the sheer waste of resources and funding that pisses me off. Didn't these big brains have something IMPORTANT they could have been doing with their time!?

I completely agree. It makes me angry to know that there are serious mental problems that could use these minds, yet they rather look at Winne The Pooh's problems. *flails*
