Today was not a good day. Emotionally it wasn't a good day and I don't want to talk about it. I made good progress getting the house cleaned up, but not as much as I'd like. I wish all these damn spiders would make themselves useful and go kill the ants in the kitchen.

Probably for the same reason a bald vagina is labeled as "graphic nudity" in a film.

Genitals are absolutely dirty and filthy and don't belong on film. Unfortunately, you can't mask a man's with pubes as readily as you can mask a woman's.

Ignoring the fact that there are two places a woman can be exposed (top and bottom) versus the one a man can be. You know why there's so many topless women? It's not just because America secretly loves hooters, it's because there is no male analogue.

i'd just say that I don't think it's so much that women have "more to show"(i won't argue about how breasts are considered "naughty bits" too, even though they aren't) but it's how it's presented. They could sexualize the male form the same way they do the women's, but then more people would get grossed out for some reason(which i would chalk up to double standards) and probably not want to see the movie. And if you can artfully or strategically cover a wang, or a naked guy, you can do the same with a woman. movies have been doing it forever. I think it's different intent and selling tactics usually.

It would be impossible to sexualize men the same way. People's reaction when they see a naked woman is how beautiful she is. People's first reaction when they see a naked man is to laugh. It's true.

I haven't seen the movie, but i'm doubting it. movie makers usually go to great lengths(except in rare occasions like 28 Days Later) to conceal a penis or to strategically just keep it covered up. They don't seem nearly as eager to do the same for a woman, speaking of the film industry in general. not specific directors or film companies.

You can show full-frontal on a woman since you're not actually showing the cooter. It's rare you'll see an open crotch shot in a major motion picture.
