Why are we here?

Had a friend ask me yesterday why people do Livejournal. Didn't really have a good answer for her. It's not even like anybody reads this damn thing anyway.
My car's in the shop. New water pump. Crossing fingers and hoping that the old Buick lasts another six months so I can replace her. She's had a good run, but she turns twenty next year and makes lots of scary noises when I ride in her. Good qualities for a lover. Not so good for a car.

I look forward to your redneck neighbor stories. Being from here, I can feel your pain. Also, anyone who listens to Circle of Dust, Fear Factory, and Savior Machine can't be all that bad. I definitely like those bands but I'm more of a death/black metal kind of guy. \m/\m/

I don't mind at all! What area of Independence are you in?

P.S. I like a lot of death and black too. In Flames, Living Sacrifice, Extol, Virgin Black, Kekal. None of the really overtly satanic ones, though. A shame, because Cradle of Filth and Emperor kick a** musically.

I live about a mile east of I-435 and 23rd Street. Just inside the Independence city limits.
