Just got back from hiking the mile back to home after dropping my car off at the mechanic to fix that carbeurator once and for all. Wasn't as bad a walk as I thought it would be. It's awfully hilly in this area and I was dreading the walk in the rain all week, but the sky staid dry and the hills aren't as difficult as I thought. Funny, back before I lived here I'd go out walking for hours and miles and never think twice about it. I guess it's different when you HAVE to walk rather than are CHOOSING to walk. But it was a nice day and the exercise couldn't have been bad for me.
On to other news, Great Hive Mother Batchix has produced another survey and I, her faithful drone am now sending it out to begin pollinating the world. Enjoy.
The six senses
Making a survey cause I'm bored on break. :B
3 favorite sounds:
1. The voice of That Special Someone on the phone when you're not expecting them to call.
2. Terms of endearment from That Special Someone.
3. GOTHIC METAL!!!
1 sound you hate:
The alarm clock.
3 favorite sights:
1. Would it be chauvinistic and vile of me to say I like the sight of beautiful women?
2. A B.C. Rich electric guitar, within my grasp, waiting to be played.
3. Classical-inspired art.
1 you hate:
A stranger outside my front door, because I know he either wants to sell me something or to join his church.
3 Favorite smells:
1. The various smells of candles.
2. Nasty, unhealthy, greasy, fried food.
3. Rain
1 you hate:
garbage. (and who doesn't?)
3 favorite tastes:
1. Dr. Pepper
2. General Tso
3. Chocolate milk
One you hate:
Onions when you find them in potato salad. Eww.
3 favorite things to touch:
1. The waist of my Special Someone as I wrap my arms around her and pull her near. (Can you tell I'm a hopeless romantic and *really* wishing I had a Special Someone? lol)
2. The strings of my guitars.
3. The computer keyboard when I'm hammering away at my novel.
One you hate:
nail clippings
3 times you think you may have had sixth sense:
1. The various times my friend Carie and I sensed when the other was in trouble or needed to talk even though we were hundreds of miles away.
2. The time I knew my beloved Lesley was going to return from vacation and tell me something I wasn't going to like. Turns out she'd gotten engaged.
3. Another incident with Lesley where I had a general feeling of severe unease for weeks prior to her secret elopement.
That's it for tonight folks.

Later, hun. (*Hugs*)

Date: 2003-04-26 03:59 pm (UTC)Another one I've gotten into is a band from Australia called Virgin Black. They've got the whole death/black vibe going on but they also incorporate some melodic singing, choirs and strings. They only have one album, entitled Sombre Rommantic, but it comes with their debut three-song EP so it's a good buy. Blastbeats.com's the only place I know in this country that's carrying their stuff.
Lemmee think... there's also Wedding Party. They released one album on Saviour Machine's record label, MCM records, and then broke up. SM's lead singer produced & sang back-up so they sound like a Saviour Machine Jr. but they're still very good. Be warned, they are rather in-your face with their religion, but musically they're so good that I don't care. If you're interested, I have a CD-R of their album I can mail to you. I don't need it since I've got the real copy now.
Another one I've recently gotten into is called Fountain of Tears. They've also only got one album, and they stray a little more into prog metal territory (Dream Theatre/Fates Warning type stuff.) But they've still got a gothic darkness to them - one of their tracks is an Edgar Allen Poe poem set to music for crying out loud. They're also noteworthy in that they have a female vocalist. They're stuff's available at fountainoftears.com and blastbeats.com, but blastbeats is currently out of their disc last time I checked.
Anyway, hope that info helps!
