[livejournal.com profile] sidhe_etain was reflecting on the things she has done between the ages of 20 and 30, (today was her 30th birthday.) And wow, her list was pretty amazing. I told her I didn't think my list for those years would be nearly so impressive. She didn't think that was true. So here I am, posting what I think were some of the high points between my 20th and 30th birthdays. I turn 34 in two months so now's as good a time as any to recall such things.

Between then and more-recent then... )

Anyway, that's what stands out. I guess it was pretty worthwhile overall.

A song you listen to when you are happy. (As opposed to a song that merely "makes" you happy as earlier in the meme.)

It's hard to listen to Dethklok when you're in any kind of serious mood, really. Don't ask me why I associate songs about giant monsters destroying the world with happiness. I just do!

This is another post that will only be meaningful to metalheads. But last night in Sofia, Bulgaria members of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer all got onstage and jammed together for a cover of Diamond Head's "Am I Evil." Anyone knowing the rocky history of all these bands, especially Metallica and Megadeth, knows this can't have been easy thing to pull off and the result is as awesome as you can imagine it would be.

I agree with all the commentors on Megadeth's facebook page: Bring this tour to America now!

A song you listen to when you're sad...

The character in this song is singing about her mother being dead. She is apparently happy that her mother is dead. And it is all apparently happening in Silent Hill.

No, I don't want to listen to that when I'm happy either.
