Nov. 8th, 2005 09:23 pmI must be getting well bcause once again I am not sleeping! I feel a lot better today. Just... a lot sleepier. We're watching Firefly and drinking Mountain Dew Pitch Black. It's a nice evening. It was the perfect autumn day that ended with some very exciting news for Mel. I'd spill the beans, but she understandably wants to share the big happenings for herself. Watch her journal for details.
After we finished our running around today I received an abrupt phone call offering me a job interview. Between being astonished and having my lunch in my hand I didn't know quite what to say, so I said I'd call her back to set up a time. Naturally, when I called back a few minutes later she was gone on lunch break and she returned my call while I was asleep so now we're playing phone tag. It'd be a long commute and a lot of responsibility, but if I want more money I guess responsibility is going to have to be a part of it. Plus she said upfront they'd give me all the training I'd need. Of course, I still need to find out what it pays. That would be a might important. Gah, it's just this is the part of any application process I hate most: the interview part. Working at night makes it hard as invariably it's something I have to stay up for which means invariably it hurts the performance I give. Or at least in my mind it does.
Applying for work would be so much easier if you didn't have to do it, know what I mean? But I guess if I'm serious about improving my life it needs to be more than just talk.
