In pain

I think I'm gonna need to schedule a doctor's appointment to see what's causing the pain in my chest. Nobody freak out. I'm pretty certain it's my muscles and not my heart since a) it feels like muscle pain and only happens when I move my arms certain ways b) sometimes alleviates when I pop my neck a certain way and c) considering how long it's gone on if it were an impending heart attack it would have long since killed me many, many months ago. But it does seem to be slowly getting worse, so I'd better find out what's what.

Weekend was nice. Went and saw Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut and Collateral on Saturday. Highlights were getting lost within the abyss that is the Cinemark theatre on the Plaza, watching heavily-tattooed bridesmaids in pink taffeta struggling to carry heavy objects, highly vocal movie audiences who believe $700 to be an unbelieveably vast sum of money, (and some of whom apparently had first-had knowledge in forensic science,) and getting to watch [livejournal.com profile] pinkfaeriestars run around like a busy worker bee, eagerly snatching up Donnie Darko posters to save them from the dumpster.

I shouldn't have told that story. She'll probably hit and/or kick me now. (inside joke.)

The rest of the weekend was spent hunched over in front of the PS2 playing Silent Hill 4: The Room and getting my ass handed to me by levitating undead who either look like Riff-Raff from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ossie Davis, or one of the antagonists from Deliverance depending on where you encounter them. In spite of my giving a big fat boo to unkillable antagonists, the game only reinforces the SH pantheon's place as my most sacred and beloved of time-wasters. Must definately do that fan fic I talked about a while back...

Other goody of the weekend was being able to acquire both the new Megadeth and Cure cd's at the same time for a total price of $20 and some mild physical abuse by [livejournal.com profile] pinkfaeriestars. I'm sure I can't be the first person to have done it, but I'm sure there can't be very many people who've ever purchased both a Cure and a Megadeth cd at the same time, let alone out of the same $20 bill so pardon me while I enjoy a mild sense of coolness and exhultation. HuzzaH!

That was my weekend. How was yours?

I am sorry you are in pain. *hug* Wish I could do something for you. My weekend was good. I got to play nintendo, specifically Super Mario Bros. so it made me happy :)

I still have a soft spot for Super Mario and always will. A weekend with him is a weekend well-spent!

*hugs* Go see the doc soon! Better to be sure it's nothing serious than on top of the pain to have the insecurity about it as well.

The appointment's scheduled for Wednesday so I guess we'll see. Apparently my doctor I've been seeing is no longer with the practice anymore so I'll be getting a different doctor. Should be interesting :/

i'd be happy to have all that for $20 too. Your HuzzaH is not frivilous.

Good luck with the doctor's appointment. I should go back but i just decided to stop taking the meds. waste of money i think.

i also went around rescuing manowar posters after the show. I dont know why more people dont try and rescue posters from imminent doom.

i dont understand why anyone would *NOT* procure themselves a free poster when given the chance.. unless they're one of those lame-oids (lamoids looked a bit confusing phonetically i thought) who are afraid of "what people might think".. if that's the case, they dont deserve free posters :P

Are the meds not working? And which meds would these be?

My mom now makes a game out of stealing a poster from the lobby of every play that she goes and sees. So far she hasn't been caught once. I have a cool mom.

Wellbutrin. I thought it was working at first, but i think now that i possibly was just having a good couple weeks since much of the invasive kill-centric thoughts are back and bothering me for days once again. I think the meds weren't doing $60 worth of work for the $60 a month i'm paying so i'm not paying for more. And all i'll get from a doctor is "okay, lets try more mind altering meds then. have you tried this one? no? all right then, here's your prescription, and stop taking it if it whacks you the hell out and renders you unable to function" and that is stupid. i mean, how much money am i going to dump into their screwed up system before they actually find something that *helps* me? I dont even want meds to begin with since i think they mainly just try and dope you up to get rid of those pesky symptoms instead of actually figure out what the underlying problem is.

So, hopefully i dont feel like killing other unnecessary human ass pimples or get obsessed with my deathwish anytime soon. But enough. i'll save the mental crap for my own journal.

You can mentally crap in my journal any time you want. I welcome it.

I hate those doctors who, when you're still in the middle of telling them your symptoms just rattle off something on a piece of paper to take to the drug store and then leave. It's like they're not even interested in finding out what's wrong with you. I don't put up with it like I used to. The way I see it, for what I'm paying them to come into their office and wait on them, they can wait until I'M done with them. Overpaid meat magicians...

::resumes not freaking out over the pain::

How is the director's cut of "Donnie Darko"?

Silent Hill 4 r0x0rz delux0rz, then again, they all rule.

Hehe. Awesome on the Megadeth/Cure purchase in one go. I did that once with Judas Priest and some funky new age group. Got a lot of funny looks. But I think my friend [livejournal.com profile] horrorhead has us both beat because he bought a copy of "Crossroads" (yes, the Spears movie) and a Fear Factory CD in the same putchase.

It wasn't a purchase, but one day I found myself not wanting to listen to anything other than Slayer and They Might Be Giants, so I just played them in alternating succession for a few hours. Would've been funnier if I hadn't been by myself at the time. Still noteworthy though! :)

The Donnie Darko director's cut is quite excellent. The movie makes perfect sense to me now. You get to see the text of the book that's referenced so often and it actually gives clues to a lot of what you're seeing. It helps your mind start connecting dots without going so far as to spoonfeed it to you. Very good approach. The deleted scenes they added back in really fleshed out the story too and were just enjoyable to watch in their proper context.

Me too. Hopefully it's something minor. I'm starting to get nervous now that the appointment is drawing closer.

I shall eagerly watch Cabin Fever with you. It's been on my need-to-see list for a long time.

And you kicked me because you list midget porn as an interest. Yessiree *nods*

So should I throw some steaks on the grill, cut some flowers, and start walking towards your house?

Glad you're going to see a doc, heal up fast!

I'll be waiting. Just be sure to bring your katana. There's a lot of ronin bandits on the road this time of year.

I always take my katana...But yes, you're right. Especially in the mountain passes, and no doubt they will be drawn to the scent of steak. Nothing I can't handle though. ~grin~
