After being "up" for most of yesterday, my mood is kind of down again today. I know what's causing it but I'm not really up to talking about it. But I'm a little more at peace since I've started thinking in terms that God provides and will make the best thing for the situation happen if I just let him and accept what He chooses.

Got my motel booked for Georgia next week. In two days I have gone from never having booked a hotel reservation in my life to having two under my name in two different cities. I can't describe how satisfying it is to finally be doing a heavy amount of travelling. When you might leave your home city for longer than a day no more than once a year, taking two trips out of state a month apart from each other is heavy travelling indeed. I'll be flat-ass broke by the end of the summer, of course, and up to my neck in debt but I don't care. I'll be thirty in two years and I've never really gone on that many big adventures. Now is the time to do things.

No music got done today, save about ten minutes of practice this morning, but did make it three-quarters of the way through editing thirty-five page chapter of the novel. Would've finished it completely except I wanted to build an L5R deck before I came to work. I should've finished the chapter since the deck is a complete failure and doesn't work at all. Oh well, never know until you try.

After I get off work I get to take my car in for service to make it road-worthy for a couple of fourteen hour drives. Hopefully they won't find any surprise problems with it to suck away my finances. My AAA card came in the mail today too, so I'm as ready for something to go wrong vehicle-wise as I can be. Can you tell I'm a little nervous about making this drive all by myself? Man, next weekend just needs to hurry up and get here.

do i ever know about that.. sucks too to sit around feeling down in silence alone. This is just me, but that gives my nasty little brain more of a chance to let whatever it is fester and grow and get out of control. But that's just the paranoid obsessive mind at work.

Doesnt booking hotels and flights make you feel like a big boy? hah. i feel so grown up doing stuff like that. i was so proud of myself the first time i booked my own flight. And take it easy and enjoy the drive if you're driving to GA all alone. Its a beautiful drive and technically *can* be made in one day, as i successfully demonstrated by driving from KCMO to Tallahassee in one day last summer around this time. Bring caffiene and plenty of CDs. and follow cops and other drivers that drive like bats out of hell in the south. its okay.. it seems like you're speeding at insane rates, but most people do and you're safe going over 80 in a pod of cars. especially through alabama i've noticed..and if you go through Birmingham to get where you're going, pay extra attention. i got lost and turned around in that city both coming and going on my cross country drive and i was even checking out the map and everything.

I don't *think* I have to go through Birmingham, but if I wind up there, I'll consider myself warned. Thanks!

I find that long trips in the car by yourself can be nicely improved with a book on cd (and a huge selection of music for when that gets incredibly boring) If youtake a good book, it will keep you entertained.

Making reservations for yourself really makes you feel like an adult doesn't it. It feels good

I had not thought of a book on cd. Good idea! I may just have to do it. Thanks!

I like driving and long distances don't bother me at all, I find it relaxing. I don't mind getting lost most of the time either, provided I'm not late for anything and I have ample gas money. I'm sure your car will be fine. Make sure you have extra fluids for it though, just in case. And that card is a good investment. I have one too. =)

Yes, but you're so far ahead of me on adventures I think I need to save all the ones I can for myself in order to catch up ;) Nevertheless, you'll hear all about it.
