Are you unmotivated if you sleep more than the average person does, but still do a whole lot when you're awake? Man, I really think it's time to change jobs. Since I've been working these hours I've gradually lost all interest in doing anything theatre related and even in socializing to a large degree. Sure, I still work very hard on my writing and my music but I don't have to leave the house to do those. Mind you, I probably won't actually go about changing jobs. This job is, as I have said, very straightforward and very well-paying and thus breeds complacency. To say nothing of what the job market's like out there right now. But, this coming morning I go to meet with the lady about the theatrical job which could take me away from everything for a year. Whether or not I'll want to do that remains to be seen. I really don't want to pick up my whole life and go on the road, but staying in this cycle forever isn't a very good option either.

Maybe you should do it for the very reason that you find yourself wanting to shut yourself in. Forced socialization can be fun!

Good luck sir. :-)

Actually, now that I've spoken to the lady I'm hard pressed to find a reason not to do this. It's a show called "John, His Story" which apparently had a recent off-Broadway run. It's the Gospel of John from the Bible told from the female characters' point of view. It would be a year long commitment where we'd go to perform at various churches in the KC area. Pay would be a percentage proportional to venue size - which means it could potentially pay very well since there are some churches around here with 4,000-5,000 member congregations. All things considered, I'm hard-pressed to think of a reason not to do it. Plus, I would be playing Jesus! Which I think means I finally have an incentive to get back into shape. Jesus should not be overweight like me :)

*giggles* You just want to have women like Mary Magdalene fall at your feet.

Would've been nice. Sadly, the whole thing failed to happen.
