If you're ever having trouble getting to sleep, may I suggest that taking two Tylenol PM's and running up and down the stairs a dozen or so times does wonders.

It was a beautiful day here. I had forgotten just how wonderful a taste of spring could be. It's nice and cloudy, wet and sultry without being sticky. It's the kind of weather that would be perfect for the opening of a gumshoe movie. You know, with some sleazy saxophone music gently loeing over a montage of glistening female lips blowing smoke. Cut to my office door with the letters in black stencil over frosted glass reading "JACK QUINCANNON, PRIVATE EYE." Yeah, I could dig that. I could totally get used to that.

In other news, the decision was made based on one line of the script to make my character walk with a cane. I don't know if I agree with the decision, but we'll see if it works. Nothing like throwing a wrench in the blocking a week before the show.

My career as a pirate seems to be paying off. My day was considerably brightened by the sighting along the Florida coast of two playful albino whales! Thanks [livejournal.com profile] stitchedsutures!

Speaking of pirates, I need to get my arse in gear and write some fiction for [livejournal.com profile] thesaltyhooker. It's been way too quiet over there of late and somebody needs to stir things up.

That is all.

It's the play "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller. It's about the family of an arms contractor struggling with the reprocusions of a lawsuit claiming he sold shoddy parts to the military and caused soldiers' deaths. Very good stuff. It opens next weekend and runs the following weekend.

Weell, lessee... It runs February 26, 27, and 28 and March 5 and 6 at 8 p.m. and on March 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7, or $18 for the show on the 28th 'cause that's dinner theatre night. The playhouse has a website, http://www.citytheatreofindependence.org and that has the ticket-ordering information. I can give you directions to get there if you decide to come. It sure would be swell if you could. We could finally meet face to face. I barely remember what you look like, other than that you have nice breasts, of course ;) So, yeah, come if you can. That would be awesome.

There'll be a display set up in the lobby with everyone's photo and the name of the character they're playing. (Advance hint: My character's name is George Deever.) Let me know if it turns out you can come!

I have to comment on the weather...it WAS beautiful. So beautiful. I had to catch the last bus home that night but I would not have minded walking home one bit. If felt like a beautiful summer night.

Hope you have a good show!
