If you like that, you should read Suetonius' Twelve Caesars. Wild Hare Grove is doing it for book study. It's a biography of the first twelve Caesars, largely consisting of the various rumors, scandals, and gossip about each. I am not very far into it yet, but have so far learned some rude songs that soldiers sang about Julius Caesar, and that he was involved in enough extramarital affairs as to totally annoy the Senators, one of whom referred to him on the Senate floor as "every woman's man, and every man's woman". I'll be excited to get to the chapter on Caligula, later.
