Don't worry, I didn't have a bad day at the dog track. What did happen is that my parents found this magnificent house, the best we've seen so far. All that's needed is first and last month's rent, a total of fifteen hundred. We thought it'd be no problem to secure a short-term loan in that amount, right? Wrong! The bank turned us down, even for that paltry amount, (paltry for a bank, that is, not for us.) We'd talked about me taking out the loan, but with my credit as it is, they wouldn't approve me either. And advancing the money from my credit cards would bring problems of its own even if I immediately paid the money back. (My dad gets his first full retirement check next month, with which he would pay back the bulk of the money.) So now here we are with until Saturday to find a way to get the deposit and no way of getting it.
Banks. Who needs them? No wonder our economy sucks. You'd think in Kansas City, a town with a long and prestigious mafia history, finding a someone willing to advance you some cash would be easy. Grr.
Now granted this is more my parents' problem then my own, so technically I shouldn't be angry, but moving here will make them happy and I want them to be happy. Plus, it's a house I'm going to be living in too and I really liked this one. To say nothing of the fact that once housing is taken care of, concentrating on a new car will be much easier. Oh well, I'm sure God has a plan. Saturday's not here yet so I'm not giving up hope on this yet.
