Writing's easy when you look this good
Dec. 15th, 2006 01:05 amMuch of the last of my day off has been spent devoted to my writing career. If only all days could be as such! Today I signed and returned the publishing contract. Then, per the publisher's request I composed and sent them a bio*, an excerpt from Apocalypse Woman**, and a photograph for my upcoming profile page on their website.*** It all took a lot longer than it sounds like too.
In between and around all that Mel and I finished decorating our Christmas tree, finished cleaning the bedroom and setting the cats up as residents therein so they cannot destroy said Christmas tree, and gone and done taken care of some errands. It's been a full day.
Tomorrow I get to go deal with my job transfer and slog through another heaven-knows-how-many days of work. I'll try not to get too down about it though on account of how well things are going in all other areas. Wish me luck, everyone. Keep me distracted ;)
*Not as easy as it sounds. I hate trying to talk about myself without sounding like a huckster.
**Not as easy as it sounds when you're writing is as verbose as mine and you're trying to keep it short; and also when you're trying to keep it free of four-letter words when your book contains more profanity than Bring Your Profane Child To Work Day at the Profanity Corporation's profane headquarters.
***Taking the photo proved to be more work than I thought it would be too. Thankfully, between Mel's camera skills and a slight bit of face powder to tone down my Shining Forehead of Doom (tm) we managed.
