Here's to the good life.

Well I'm back after a busy and nice weekend. Went to an L5R pre-release tournament Friday night. Only got to stay for two rounds because they started late and I had to work, but I got new cards and that's all that mattered. Went to another one on Sunday and took third place - which is saying something since there were twenty-four people there. Looks like my losing streak is over, but then again I've always been quite skilled at pre-release deck construction. Also got have a swell brunch with rustie25 and donkeyjon. The only down side of the day was that my father, who was with me, was feeling terribly ill all day long. FINALLY talked him out of going into work at midnight about two hours before he was supposed to go in. Going 24-plus hours on no sleep while sick and aching all over is a bad idea for a man his age, and sick and stubborn is a dangerous combination. But, like I said, he stayed home and slept all night which is what he needed.

Having gotten never more than a few hours of sleep each day this weekend, I myself was in a pleasant state of exhaustion when I finally caught a nap last night - the kind where your whole body just relaxes the instant you lay down. It was wonderful. I almost didn't get up in time for work. Even worse, I almost think I would've been okay with that!

Another sad note: it seems I am yet again responsible for making an innocent person curious about the meaning of the word "bukkake" and them going on-line to find out what it was, completely unprepared for what awaited them. Sorry, Annie :) There are times, I guess, when I just should not say words.
