I suppose you're all using that "holiday" thing as your excuse. Has anybody else besides me noticed that not many people on LJ seem to like the Christmas season very much? The perpetrators largely fall into two camps.

1) Christmas is not all gothy and atheistic like they are.

2) There is traumatic family drama every year over the holidays. Mom has a traumatic breakdown while serving the cranberry jelly because she had a lousy Christmas when she was eight years old. The news that Cousin Will got at the foot doctor last Wednesday was not good. Due to Aunt Nelly not felating him with a frequency to his liking, Uncle Jim has taken up with a woman twenty years younger who does and has scandalized everyone by bringing her to the Christmas brunch, etc., etc.

What's up with THAT, people? Why spend all this time with these people you loathe when you could be updating your LJ, responding to posts and entertaining me, ME, ME! ;)

Just kidding. I'm not that bratty. I am, however, productive. This weekend I finally overcame my latest editing hurdle this weekend and rocketted ahead. Worked in a small amount of guitar jamming. Met up with the returned Melissa who surprised me with monetary payment for looking after her kitties. Hung out at A&A's for the first time since about a week before Christmas. Matthew and Meghan (should I call them M&M now?) gave me their Christmas present: a DVD controller for my PS2 which was a pleasant surprise. I guess they really do care. Granted, we all know that what I really wanted for Christmas was Meghan in a pirate costume begging me to "shiver her timbers" and for Matthew not to be dating her, but it was still a nice gesture. Swapped sexual innuendos and ghost stories with Lesley while she painted her bedroom blue. And then tonight I topped it off by lucking out and stumbling into a series of documentaries on the History Chanel about the SS, which is actually useful research for my writing. I'm surprised at how good in-depth analysis of the SS is somewhat hard to find.

So that's me right now. It sure beats having to be nice to Grandma Ingersoll because she's eighty and doesn't even remember scalding her childrens' hands in boiling water when they were little, that's for dang sure.
