Did I mention Kill Bill is a great movie?
Went to the last day of the Rennaisance Faire with long-time-no-see ex-girlfriend Melissa today. Had a really good time. It's been awkward talking to and hanging out with Melissa the few times we've communicated since our break-up, but getting to hang around each other for six hours today was apparently very good. Things seemed to warm up and relax as time went on. It was a good thing I didn't dress up though because the mud from this weekend's rain had not dried and then it rained again.
stitchedsutures your dream about Type O Negative mutants wallowing in mud might have been about me as I got quite muddy out there and then listened to Type O all the way home. Surreal, neh?
Not much to report about the day, really. Went there hoping to get some more clothes, but the clothes vendors were all pretty picked over, it being the last day and all. Just as well since I've got the car title and sales tax to come up with this month as well as my purchase of L5R Diamond Edition. I did find some more super-discounted NeNe Thomas prints, however. If you dig elegant fantasy art, then I highly recommend her website here
And then I came home and slept. It was a good day. I haven't talked about Melissa much on here but I know I've mentioned her in passing. I've often regretted the fact that Melissa and I didn't last. I like her a lot and she's really sweet. Sadly, while I could be with someone who doesn't share all my interests, I don't think I could be with someone who doesn't understand them. My music, my games, my sundry other interests, Melissa really doesn't comprehend many of them. And that's not a negative on her; we're just different people from different worlds, going in different directions in life. But if ever there was a true and giving person always willing to go the extra mile, then it is she. Our months together were a happy time during a point in my life (i.e., right after Lesley,) when a happy time was what I needed most and for that I can't begin to repay her. Today seemed to finally get us back off to good re-start. Here's hoping it can continue.
