Quote of the weekend:
And those are those... Russian... lesbians... who... we don't know how escaped... the country... there.
-Fox News Anchor John Scott's reaction to footage of T.A.T.U.'s performance on the MTV Video Music awards
I love John Scott. Ordinarily I find a news anchor who can't resist editorializing to be irritating and unpleasant. With him it's just funny.
I am pleased to say I accomplished nearly everything I set out to do this weekend. I wrote, I drew, I edited, I played music. I'm still mildly surprised myself. I can't believe I really did it all. My only regret is I didn't do it all in larger amounts. Especially the drawing. I'm starting a new series involving women with swords. No, I don't mean cheesy comic book babes with big knockers, but something a little more... open to interpretation. Pity my lack of means to upload images to the web or I'd show my first effort off. Oh well. One day I'll have such capability.
Went to Dean's play yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find Lesley waiting there for me with a complimentary ticket so I got to see the show for free. It was nice to get the extra time with Lesley since she won't be around much the next two weeks. Also found out we'd both had dreams this weekend that involved us kissing each other... which is a lot less exciting than it sounds since they were both rather comedic dreams. But hey, ya take what ya can get ;)
Now the trouble is, I'm pooped out and ready for bed but I STILL feel creative. I spent the whole shift at work filling the spiral notebook with a scene that's going in the next novel and you'd think that would have dried me out but my ideas aren't shutting off and I fear that if I sleep I'll lose them. That's happened before. Still, I think I'm going to sleep anyway. And even if I wake up bone-dry in the idea deptartment, at least I'll know I still did pretty good for a weekend where I was expecting to underachieve.
