Everybody on LJ seems to be having a crappy time now. Sorry, guys. I'm not, but I'm really tired so that makes everything *seem* crappy.

Big day tomorrow. Going back to the doctor to see about getting my acid reflux medicine changed since I'm having pain again. Although that could just be stress and lack of sleep. But if the meds he had me on in sample form turn out to be cheaper then it's worthwhile. Tomorrow is opening night as well. It's going to be a very good show. It will be so nice to have the opening out of the way. The tension level always goes down after that.

It's not that I'm having a crappy time... well... it is. But I see the joy and random hilarity at such moments, hence the reason why I poke so much fun at it in my lj. I suppose, for the most part, though, it hasn't come off quite as funny as I see the whole thing.

I mean, c'mon, how many other people in lj besides you and I would chose to name cysts? Athena and Ted.... I find it somewhat you supplied a female name and I kept thinking of male names.

Well, if you know the myth of Athena's birth you'll know why it was a perfect name. What else do you call a big painful mass in the middle of your forehead?

There's nothing wrong with being able to laugh at the downside of life. I tend to do it much more in the real world than I do in my journal. This seems to be the place where I'm either to be found at the height of my sarcasm or else with none at all.

I hope so too. If anything, these other meds should be less expensive just because they lack the multimillion dollar Nexium brand name. (It's like the Nike of heartburn meds.) But you never know. It's still working for what I need it to do, but I've never been on Nexium this long and it's starting to give me the same side-effect feelings as the over-the-counter stuff I was on before. It may have something to do with the magnesium as they both contain it, but the meds he gave me samples of did not. I dunno. It's more information than you need anyway.

And the opening of the show was great!

It is a nightmare from which there is no escape. I'm just thankful that at least nowadays there are drugs to treat it with, even if they do cost a king's ransom. Had I come down with it ten years sooner I would've been fucked!

S'cool. Live journal seems to be all about the angst. Angstity-angst-angst-angst.

I mean, where else would people go to bitch about... everything? I just try to sugarcoat my rants and make them appear happy and fluffy. Usually because I can't stay mad for more than five minutes without bursting into laughter at something stupid.

I'm getting in the mood again to make another one of my mock-LJ-Goth posts. I haven't done one in a while and it's fun to poke a little fun at all the LJer's so intense in their angst.

The myth is actually rather strange. One day, Zeus developed a terrible headache that nothing would cure, so he did the logical thing and asked the god Haephestus to whollop him in the head with an axe and see if that would make it better. So Haephestus splits ol' Zeus's head open and the goddess Athena popped out, fully grown and wearing a suit of armor! Zeus felt much better and they all lived happily ever after.

And the Greeks were supposed to be the pioneers of western medicine...
