Another piece of history gone, and the triumph of the human spirit is a lesson that more kids need to learn today. I feel sad when these people are lost to us forever because I fear our collective failure to remember the past, and our potential to repeat it.

How awesome is it that she was talking to schoolchildren about what she did until she was almost 100? I hope her legacy lives on in some way. I hope that if I'm ever faced with the choices she was that I could be one tenth as brave.

It doesn't sound like she regretted anything. But like Phillip said above I'm afraid of her legacy being forgotten as history moves forward.

Surly not....That was always required reading in school for us. Sparked interest...Hopefully that will always be the case...
