A lesson on human baby-making

Read that carefully and I think you'll find some language that could be grabbed ahold of and used by the anti-gay marriage folks.

But I mostly just posted the link because, huh huh, they said "femal reproductive pie."

Are you talking about the language of the "nature" of things and what human families have evolved?

Yep.

I want to know what doctor put her on fertility drugs when she had 6 children already. Really, there should be a point when doctors say "perhaps your body has had enough and that is why you are not getting pregnant the natural way"...its seems a bit irresponsible to knock up a woman with 6 kids and create 8 more for her to carry.

I know, freedom of choice with your reproductive system. These kids could suffer from all sorts of disabilities because they were premature. Doctors should be able to say "you can do what you want but I am not going to help you do something I think is harmful for you and the babies you may or may not produce"...

It just irks me because I know that with 14 kids, there will be a burden on society, unless she makes enough money to support 14 kids...and I don't know anyone who does.

The case immediately reminded me of the Simpsons episode where the wife of Apu the convenience store owner gives birth to octuplets. When Marge learns that both she and Apu were secretly giving the woman fertility drugs she turns to her family and yells "Has anyone else been slipping this woman fertility drugs?" And Bart, Homer, and Lisa all guiltily raise their hands.

I saw this yesterday; were I someone with legal standing, I'd bring that doctor up on ethics charges. Seriously.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that what the doctor did was not ethical. I also can't figure out why, when she has 6 kids, she wanted more kids? Oh well, to each their own I guess.

She wants her own show like the Duggars?

I'd love to have 8 kids at once- any takers?! ;-)

Whoa. Insanity if you ask me. *shudders

they've been arguing about this over in dark_christian, and someone brought up the fact that the whole "it isn't natural!" argument being used against this woman is the same line often used against gay people.

dark_christian is one of the those LJ communities that pisses me off to much to read. "OMG! An elected official attended a church pancake feed! ZOMG!!! Dominionist Conspiracy!!!!111eleven!!!1111111"

That article seriously hurt my brain.

sweet, the suave introduction of male/female commitment in there as The option to keep the kids up and running. Let's not mention -for example- the communities where kids are cared for by a group of females (who often, but not always, have sex only with one man)

Biases, anyone?
