Writer's Block: Fright Show

All-time favorite would have to be The Shinning. Everything about that film just seemed to work right. But I've got a long list of horror movies that I like, some of which straddle genres:

Hellraiser I & II, Jacob's Ladder, Event Horizon, The Omen, Halloween, The Thing, Eraserhead, The Ring (American remake), Tetsuo the Iron Man, Tetsuo II: Body Hammer, A Tale of Two Sisters, Pan's Labyrinth, All the various incarnations of Juon/The Grudge, Cabin Fever, Hostel, Poltergeist, and the most recent addition is Quarantine

I take it Quarantine is good then? I'll probably rent it when it comes out, myself.

I would have put The Changeling and Texas Chainsaw Massacre on that list, as well...(and left the ones I haven't seen...along with any version of The Grudge and Cabin Fever off. :P)

I've got a ton of favorite horror movies, as well...There's a lot to choose from. :)

I haven't seen Quarantine yet (and I'm not Uber, obviously), but people I trust say the original is even better.

Rec, a Spanish-language film from 2007.

We're going to try and track it down this weekend.

Quarantine was awesome. Might make you sick if you're sensitive to shaky camera work though. (It's in the same style as Cloverfield and The Blair Witch Project.)
