Writer's Block: Fright Show

[Error: unknown template qotd]

All-time favorite would have to be The Shinning. Everything about that film just seemed to work right. But I've got a long list of horror movies that I like, some of which straddle genres:

Hellraiser I & II, Jacob's Ladder, Event Horizon, The Omen, Halloween, The Thing, Eraserhead, The Ring (American remake), Tetsuo the Iron Man, Tetsuo II: Body Hammer, A Tale of Two Sisters, Pan's Labyrinth, All the various incarnations of Juon/The Grudge, Cabin Fever, Hostel, Poltergeist, and the most recent addition is Quarantine

I really don't like horror movies. I did see Pan's Labyrinth, which you have listed, and absolutely loved it (but I don't really consider that to be a scary movie)

Jacob's Ladder scared the crap outta me. Event Horizon was creepy though I wouldn't list it as a favourite. Pan's Labrynth was AMAZING OMG! CANNOT EXPRESS. I am so excited for him to do the Hobbit. I have only seen the Grudge but it SCARED me. I plan to watch Juon sometime.

I take it Quarantine is good then? I'll probably rent it when it comes out, myself.

I would have put The Changeling and Texas Chainsaw Massacre on that list, as well...(and left the ones I haven't seen...along with any version of The Grudge and Cabin Fever off. :P)

I've got a ton of favorite horror movies, as well...There's a lot to choose from. :)

Ooo...I love horror movies! Sadly I've seen so many that very few of them really scare me any more. The last one I saw that truly frightened me was The Ring (remake). I also love Session 9 (filmed at Danvers State Insane Asylum-see icon), Bubba Ho-Tep, An American Haunting, Return of the Living Dead, Death Tunnel (filmed at Waverly Hills Sanatorium). I can't think of any more right now, but there are probably a lot of them.
