I'd just like to say...

That seeing the tops of tall buildings vanish completely into an unbroken ceiling of clouds so low that it looks like you can reach up and touch them is an experience I think everyone should have.

I totally agree. Clouds are way cool, especialy when they come down to say howdy.
If you've ever driven a mountain pass in the fog/clouds (say, the Cook City pass heading into Yellowstone Park from Montana), it's smothering and exciting at the same time.

Um, but I'm not into that asphyxiation sex stuff, if that's what yer thinkin'. Stop that.

Er... good to know Lesley is not playing Kylie Minogue to your Michael Hutchence :P

I love this type of weather. It's my favorite, and we don't get it often enough.

As I complained to someone yesterday, we only get about two weeks of autumn here and the days of those two weeks are never consecutive.

I saw that on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday there was fog on the lakes.
Very cool.

I love clouds! Unless there's rain falling from them, like we're having today. It looks like a light drizzle, but once you are walking in it, it's less light :P

It rained all last night and looked very light until I had to walk two blocks in it. Seeing and experiencing are two very different things!

I live about 2 or 3 miles from James street, so all I have to do is go to the top of my hill and I can see down town KCMO. The rain and clouds have been a sight today. I just hope it blows over soon I want to go play out side.

that really is cool. Almost as cool as driving in the mountains and looking down on the clouds with the peaks jutting out of them and the valleys just a blanket of lumpy white

I hear ya. Not having any mountains out here, I have to settle for this as the next best thing. But man, was it pretty.

we don't have any real mountains here either. I live on the memory of mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Of driving down twisting and curving roads on the edges of nothing and looking down on the wings of a soaring eagle. And of overlooks where you stand on the edge of nothing and look out and at cloud shadows drifting across the distant mountains.

now I'm all nostalgic and poetic. That is not condusive to fangirling over Shep turning into a bug (well, not so much that as the arms and various moments of 'ship). meh. I miss the mountains so very much. *wistful sigh*

There's a Blue Ridge Parkway here in Kansas City. Sadly it runs through the 'hood and the only way you'll look down on an eagle there is if you're soaring on crack :(
