It's like I never left

Apparently while I was at work last night the apartment above us (the one that usually makes so much noise,) got visited by three police cars and a police van. Or perhaps, I should say by the officers in the cars and the van. The vehicles themselves stayed in the parking lot. We have no idea what was going on, but I can speculate. You don't get four vehicles to one apartment for your standard domestic. It just makes me think back to the strange days back in my old apartment in Independence when there would routinely be 3-4 police cars at the complex every single night dragging someone away. Let's hope last night was just a fluke and not the shape of things to come.

Also, when a kitten is trying to get away from you DO NOT grab it about the midsection. It WILL fart.

When nasty, viscous medicine is involved, tile floors are a good thing.

And we're back and with yet another medicine that's supposed to be the strongest thing you can get for this type of infection. Basically it's a ground up horse pill in a vitamin solution and boy do the cats HATE it. This is going to be a fun few days trying to dose them with this gunk. Talk about messy! The good news is both cats proceeded to wolf down a plate of food after I gave it to them. Right now I'm sitting up watching Zoe to make sure she doesn't throw up like she did after her food last night. Currently she's staring out the patio window, watching a little bug fly around. I just hope we can get the weight back on her.

My poor sick Mel is dozing on the couch.

It is getting harder and harder to go into work as the end draws nigh. Having a sick family with whom I would much rather stay home does not help.

Zoe and an interview

Late Sunday afternoon we took Zoe back to the emergency vet. They told us to bring her back if her diarhea continued and it showed no sign of stopping. But I think we have good news. This time they did a different test on the stool sample and found spirochete bacteria. Apparently this bacteria causes severe diarhea and prevents nutrient absorbtion. They gave us a three-day supply of medicine for her (and didn't charge us even.) After two doses Zoe definately shows of signs of improvement. Her coat looks a little less mangy and her energy level is going back up. Obviously it's still early yet, but the improvement gives us hope.

Thanks to everyone who has been sending well wishes.

As for my Walgreens interview, I honestly have no idea. The district manager was very hard to read. He said he had three other interviews today. Whether there's just one position and we're all up for it, I have no idea. But he said I would be called tomorrow morning with an answer. So we'll just see. And if I don't get it then I just start hammering away again. That's all I can do. You all will be the first to know.
