...There are STILL commercials for vacuum cleaners and other such domestic products that show women doing house work in high heels.

There was one several years ago for one of those long-handled linoleum floor cleaning tools that featured a troop of buff army recruits cleaning their floor while singing and dancing musical theatre-style. It didn't run for very long. Too much subtext maybe?
